Join The Master Waitlist
Approved families may place a deposit to secure their position on our Master Waitlist for future litters.
Once a litter is born, families on the Master Waitlist are contacted in the order their deposits were received and given the opportunity to reserve a puppy from the current litter.

Families may pass on a litter and remain on the Master Waitlist. Deposits may be carried forward for up to three passes before being forfeited.

Puppy selection order is based on Master Waitlist position, and families receive updates throughout the process.

Strong Oaks Goldendoodles is owned and operated by Joe and Sharon in Morganton, North Carolina. As high school sweethearts and lifelong dog lovers, we've spent more than 30 years raising and training dogs and helping families find exceptional companions.

As a small family breeder, we believe every puppy deserves the best possible start in life. Our puppies receive daily interaction, socialization, and individual attention from the very beginning to help them develop into confident, loving family companions.

We carefully select our breeding dogs for health, temperament, intelligence, and family-friendly personalities. Our goal is simple: to raise healthy Goldendoodles that become cherished members of their families for years to come.

Below are answers to some of the most common questions we receive from prospective puppy families.
How much are your puppies?
Puppies from our upcoming Fall 2026 litter are $1,950. Once approved, families may submit a deposit to secure their position on our Master Waitlist.
How big will the puppies get?
We raise standard-sized Goldendoodles. While every puppy is unique, we generally expect our adult dogs to stand approximately 21 to 24 inches at the shoulder and weigh between 45 and 60 pounds. Genetics, diet, and overall health can all play a role in adult size.
How do I reserve a puppy?
The first step is completing our Adoption Application. Approved families may then submit a deposit and secure their position on our Master Waitlist.
How does puppy selection work?
We begin sending puppy updates at approximately 2 weeks of age. Families on our Master Waitlist are contacted in the order of their waitlist position and given the opportunity to commit to the current litter or pass and remain on the Master Waitlist at their current position for a future litter. Families may pass up to three times before forfeiting their deposit.

Puppy photos are updated at approximately 2, 4.5, and 7 weeks of age. At 4.5 weeks, each puppy receives individual photos and a dedicated webpage. Between 6 and 7 weeks of age, we conduct temperament testing and post the results on each puppy's webpage to help families through the selection process.

Puppy selections take place at approximately 7 weeks of age in waitlist order and may be completed in person by appointment, by phone, or through online communication. We are always happy to share our observations and insights regarding each puppy's temperament.

Puppies are ready to go to their forever homes at 8 weeks of age.
Do you offer a health guarantee?
Yes. Every puppy is backed by our 5-Year Health Guarantee and goes home with CKC registration, vaccination records, and lifetime breeder support.
Where are you located?
We are located in Morganton, North Carolina, in Burke County, conveniently situated between Charlotte and Asheville and within driving distance of South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Georgia.
Do you sell puppies outside North Carolina?
Absolutely. We regularly work with families throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee, and across the United States. Families may arrange transportation or a flight nanny service if needed.
Are Goldendoodles good family dogs?
Yes. Goldendoodles are known for their friendly personalities, intelligence, and affectionate nature. They are excellent family companions and generally do well with children and other pets when properly socialized and trained.

For more than 30 years, Joe and Sharon have been dedicated to raising and training exceptional dogs. Today, Strong Oaks Goldendoodles proudly places puppies with families throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee, and many other states across the country.

While many families choose to pick up their puppy in person, we can also arrange airline transportation for families who are unable to travel to North Carolina. Transportation costs vary depending on destination and airline requirements and are the responsibility of the puppy's family.

Families who prefer to use a professional flight nanny or ground transportation service are welcome to do so. However, arrangements for outside transportation services must be coordinated directly by the puppy's family.

Whether you live nearby or across the country, we are committed to helping make the transition to your new puppy as smooth and stress-free as possible.
